Really fantastic agency to work with. Gina and Lynden were incredibly responsive, couldn’t do enough to help and always had an immediate answer to one of our several questions. We worked with a previous surrogacy agency for the birth of our first child, but the experience was totally different. With YFA, we really felt like we mattered and we were important. Most importantly, we felt like our surrogate really mattered to them and that they showed her a strong level of personal care as well. The agency did a great job making sure that all parties felt understood, accurately represented, and advocated for, in this at-times tricky dynamic. They walked the fine line between offering experience-based recommendations and honoring the feelings and preferences of all parties involved. The most important relationship you have in this process is with the GC, but the close second is with the agency staff, to help smooth the way and enable you to maintain a good relationship with the GC when navigating through things that may not initially feel clear.

YFA agency was great, we were extremely happy with the level of attention, care and knowledge. We had set out to work with a large well-known agency for our first journey but when that didn’t work out as quickly as we had hoped, we found this smaller agency that was everything we needed and gave us personal attention, and surprisingly little to no wait time to be shown profiles of candidates, and shortly after successfully matched. We were completely blown away that the profiles that were shown to us from the start were quality candidates that were in line with what we had expressed we were looking for. Nothing on our list did they say was unreasonable or not possible. We felt understood, respected and they literally made our dream come true!

We had the (unfortunate) experience of coming to YFA after an unsuccessful surrogacy journey with another agency. We explored working with a new agency more out of a need to widen our surrogate pool than a desire to leave that agency, but once we transitioned to YFA, the level of personal care and attentiveness was night and day. Intended parents are warned so often at the outset of this process that the agency will simply not be that helpful. This could not have been further from the reality of our experience with YFA. Our case worker, Lynden, was always attentive to our needs and our GC’s needs throughout, and incredibly organized. We can’t thank YFA enough. Our relationship with our YFA surrogate has been and continues to be magical. When our daughter Violet was born, the doctors and nurses cried along with us and continued to tell us how unique our relationship with our GC was. The team at YFA supported us emotionally and logistically throughout, and made sure every part of the process felt not just smooth – but joyful, too.

“I cannot express enough how much YFA turned our infertility/surrogacy experience around for us. Were it not for YFA, I’m not sure we would have had the strength to continue after so many losses and failures. We had previously been matched with a different, larger agency who treated us like a nameless, faceless entity — their communication with us was dismissive, often verging on abusive. We got the distinct impression that IPs did not matter at all from that agency; that we were open targets for abuse/manipulation, and we often felt this agency took advantage of our desperation and fragile emotional state.

From the first conversation I had with Megan (the owner) on the phone, I knew YFA was different. I cried after our call because it was the first time I had been treated with such empathy and understanding this entire journey. I didn’t know an agency like this could even exist in this industry. Megan’s own experience with infertility and as an IP added a layer of shared understanding — plus, it was clear Megan was smart and professional and ethical. She helped us navigate some difficult situations with Dr. with professionalism and care. When our first match with our first surrogate fell through, Megan told us she would open her books to us and set up a match meeting with whoever we wanted. She also said if we found another agency, she would be happy to refund us, and that her only goal was for us to have a healthy baby. We were so, so, so incredibly touched by Megan’s humanity. I’m crying writing about it even now. It meant so much to us and came at a time where we had almost lost hope.

The team at YFA was also fantastic. We always felt heard and supported. They went above and beyond to make things happen — for example, FaceTiming with our surrogate at 5am to ensure she took her PIO shot on time, setting up appointments with a nutritionist, helping us find a hotel for when our OB wanted our surrogate to move to LA to be close to the hospital to deliver. We felt like ALL parties in our journey mattered and that YFA cared about everyone’s experience.

So yes, to conclude — Matthew and I both felt like we mattered, which we do not take for granted, especially in this industry and given our history. We mark our 5 year experience with infertility as “before YFA” and “after YFA.” This experience was always going to be hard, but it made such a difference to go through this journey feeling supported by a team, with the right people who really cared about us. She was exceptionally committed, patient and understanding with hiccups along the way, and overly communicative with us in the most amazing way.
