Were you happy with surrogate you were matched with?

“I could go on and on about how wonderful Kaylene was – she was truly a dream surrogate. Firstly, she was very knowledgeable about the process and kept us all organized. She never missed a beat, completing all appointments on time, especially at the beginning when we were all eager to get moving. She had great communication skills and kept us fully in the loop before and after appointments. She knew the early appointments were very stressful for us so would give us a play by play of what was happening. During her pregnancy she would text us updates frequently and answered any questions we had right away. Keith, Kaylene, Gus and I became what I would like to call the dream team. We were all on a text thread together. Everyone knew when a little humor was needed. They are like family to us now!!”
Did you find the agency and staff helpful, attentive, and caring?

“We got connected to YFA through Family Match Consulting after matching with one potential surrogate who unfortunately did not pass medical screening by my IVF doctor. That misstep is what ultimately brought us to Kaylene so I know it was all meant to be. As a first time intended parent, YFA was fabulous at holding our hand through the whole process. It is VERY daunting at first between all the legal work, medical screening, insurance and so on. We really felt supported throughout that all. It was reassuring to know that everything was being handled and we could just focus on the most important thing – preparing to be parents! I would absolutely recommend YFA to a friend.”
Did you feel you were given expert guidance throughout the process?
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
“Yes, we felt were were provided helpful and accurate guidance along the way. A few examples of this were: getting Kaylene’s insurance plan setup, finding a new local IVF clinic in Alabama because the first one did not work out, finding a local attorney to represent Kaylene and helping to navigate our unfortunate miscarriage with our first transfer. These are all situations where Keith and I would have been lost without YFA.”
Was communication transparent, open and effective?

“Emails and texts were always answered within 24 hours. We felt YFA was successful in coordinating many moving parts. I think the key piece is during the initial stage with medical and legal clearance. We were so eager to get to transfer and Gina was incredibly helpful with moving everything along as quickly as possible. A question never went unanswered.”
Do you feel the agency was able to problem-solve and resolve issues well?
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
“The only ‘mistake’ that occurred was at the beginning of our journey when we had a match call with a potential surrogate that had not been cleared by my IVF doctor. That was upsetting in the moment but YFA quickly provided us other surrogate candidates, including Kaylene! The only other thing I would note is some confusion at the hospital during birth. I would put this more on the hospital than YFA but they were very unorganized and seemingly unprepared for a surrogacy birth. The pediatrician at one point even asked us if we had the adoption paperwork. We were not prepared that Kaylene’s name would be on everything related to the baby until we left the hospital. It is minor in the scheme of things now and I am sure all states are different but walking through this with the IPs would be helpful.”
Is there anything you would like to add?
